100 Women Who Care Vancouver understands that many organizations are so busy providing to others that they don’t have the time, experience or dedicated personnel to look for funding. Our giving concept is meant to even the playing field. No Powerpoints, no brochures, no fancy presentations...just five minutes to tell our members why an organization deserves our donation. We strongly feel that we could provide both a forum for funding, and a way to better educate Vancouver’s Lower Mainland on the many dedicated charitable organizations that exist here. It’s our members’ votes that decide where our funds should go.
Our Founding Chair, Charlene Fekeshazy, began planning for the Vancouver chapter in winter of 2014 and our inaugural meeting was held on September 15, 2015 at the Pinnacle Hotel Vancouver Waterfront.
No, membership is not limited to 100 women. We know that there are many caring women in Metro Vancouver and we encourage as many women as possible to join us.
As a member of 100 Women Who Care Vancouver you will be expected to commit to a minimum of 12 months and 4 meetings and make your donation within 1 week of the announcement of the winning charity.
If this might be an issue, please let us know and we are more than happy to work with you.
Charities must be nominated by a 100 Women Vancouver member.
In order for a charity to be eligible for nomination, it has to meet the following criteria:
Please note that, while the Executive Committee confirms a nominated charity's CRA registration status, the charities that are chosen to present at our meetings are randomly selected and not vetted. Our group's goal has always been to make our process as low barrier as possible and to empower our members to be able to nominate and vote for charities whose incredible work has resonated with them.
Members can nominate one charity per quarter.
No, charities may only be nominated by a member. If you are a representative of a charity, please do not hesitate to reach out to our caring members. If you do not know a member, we encourage you to introduce your charity to us through our social media pages which will likely get yourself nominated.
If you're unable to attend a meeting, please send your MEETING REGRETS to info@100womenvan.com.
There are many ways to honour your donation if you were not able to make it to a meeting.
Yes, as only registered not-for-profit and charitable organizations will be sponsored by the group. Cheques are written directly to the charitable organization and NOT to 100 Women Who Care Vancouver. Tax receipts will be issued directly by the charitable organization or by Charitable Impact.
100 Women Who Care Vancouver is organized and run entirely by volunteers. 100% of the money raised goes directly to the winning charities.
Our meetings are held at the Steamworks Brew Pub. You will be greeted by a volunteer and will be asked to sign in at the registration desk. We like to keep track of our member’s attendance as you enter so we can reconcile donations more quickly at the end of the evening. There will be a cash bar available.

Absolutely! We are always seeking additional women who care so bring a friend along who wants to learn more about our giving concept.
When a member nominates a charity, it goes into the hat for a random drawing. The Executive Committee keeps the names of the nominated charities in a database and three organizations will be selected at random a few weeks before the meeting. Members of the 3 organizations drawn will be contacted and asked to give a 5-minute presentation at the meeting as to why their organization should receive the donation. We encourage members to participate by submitting the names of local organizations in need of funding.
The website will have the most up to date info at all times. New members will receive a confirmation email and welcome package within a week of joining. We send group emails to members from info@100womenvan.com with information and updates about meetings.
To receive emails, please add info@100womenvan.com to your address book. We make every effort to reach you but sometimes your security settings prohibit us from getting things to you. If you change your e-mail address, please let us know.
